Qualifying Standards

Elite Mile Entry

Open to men and women who have run a mile in 4 minutes 15 seconds and 4 minutes 50 seconds, respectively within the preceding 36 months. Please submit recent results supporting your qualifying time with your request for entry.

Free or Reduced Entry

Below are the qualifying standards for free entries:

  • Mile - 4:10 men, 4:45 women

  • Dog Mile - 4:45 men, 5:30 women

  • 5k - 15:00 men, 17:00 women

Limited discounts are available for competitive runners not meeting the above times.

Email dianedaruty@sbcglobal.net to request free entries and discounts. When you do, please include results revealing you have met our qualifying standards. Deadline to receive free or discounted entries is March 13, 2024.

Elite Awards

Spirit Run will offer a cash prize purse in the Elite Mile and 5k and non cash prizes in the Dog Mile. Visit the Awards Page for details.

Spirit Run hosts mile (Elite, Open, Masters, and Dog) and 5k races for adults. For details on Spirit Run's adult races, visit the Adult Event Page.

Carefully review the event Schedule that allows plenty of time for you to compete in two races. Be mindful of your race’s start line, as there are separate start lines for the adult mile races and the 5k.
