Couch to 5k Training

Couch to 5k is perfect for new runners and those needing a tune up. Our coaches gently prepare you for the 5k. Training occurs Mondays and Thursdays from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Corona del Mar High School Track beginning January 29, 2024 and culminating in Spirit Run’s 5K. The registration fee includes entry into Spirit Run’s 5k.

  • Spirit Run 2023 adult 5k start line with elite athletes

    ADULT 5K

    ADULT 5K RACE

    Adults race to win cash prizes.

    5K WALK

    Beginning immediately following the start of the Youth 5k, Adults walk a 5k.

    YOUTH 5K

    Parents/guardians of youth in the Youth 5k may register for the Adult 5k and accompany their kids in the Youth 5k, but must start in the back of the pack and catch up with their kids later. Adults in the Youth 5k are not eligible to win prizes. No other adults are allowed in the Youth 5k.

    ADULT MILE

    Whether you're an elite runner competing for cash, a competitive athlete seeking a personal record or testing your fitness, or a jogger or walker looking for fun, Spirit Run has a mile race for you!

    LUCKY LEPRECHAUN’S ELITE MILE

    This race is for men and women who can run a mile faster than 4:15 and 4:50 minutes, respectively. Elites compete for cash prizes. Field will be limited to 15 men and 15 women.

    OPEN MILE

    This race is for adults aged 18-39 who don't meet the elite standards but can finish a mile in 10 minutes or less.

    MASTERS MILE

    This race is for adults aged 40 and older who don't meet the elite standards but can finish a mile in 10 minutes or less. Participants compete for cash prizes.

    FAMILY MILE

    This event is for individual adults or adults with their families to run or walk together. Participants have 20 minutes to finish. There are no prizes in the Family Mile.

  • Spirit Run Dog Mile winner at finish

    DOG MILE

    This event is for humans age 13 and older and their BFF canines on leashes. Participants may race to win prizes or jog or walk. Participants must finish in 15 minutes.
